Islington Parking Projects, a partnership between Islington Council and Mouchel Parkman, has won the Outstanding Achievement Award at British Parking Awards.
"The nature of our business means that many of our staff travel regularly and we recognise that this has an impact on the environment," said Andy Sherlock, Head of Environmental Management at Mouchel Parkman.
"We currently offer employees interest-free season ticket loans for public transport and we have introduced a company-wide telephone/data conferencing network (and video-conferencing facilities in several regional offices) to provide an alternative to travelling to meetings where appropriate".
"The results of the survey will help influence some of the measures and incentives under consideration such as a company car share club; a tax saving scheme on bicycle purchases; a cycle mileage allowance; pool bikes at offices; and, of course, adequate shower facilities and secure bike storage," Sherlock added.
Richard Cuthbert, Chief Executive Officer at Mouchel Parkman is confident the company, working as a team, can make significant CO2 reductions.
"Climate change is at the top of our agenda as well as our clients' and stakeholders' agendas and transportation is the major carbon contributor in the delivery of our services and projects.
We need to address this in a considered way.
"This survey is vital to reducing our burden on the climate and at the same time it gives our staff the opportunity to shape the development of the company's sustainable travel plan".
The new plan will be introduced in August.
