Mowlem Begins Work On £12 Million
Luxury Flats
Mowlem Building (Eastern) has started work on 111 flats in Eastbourne, worth a total of £12 million.
Opened in 1993, Sovereign Harbour is said to be the largest and most sophisticated composite marina in the UK It is situated on the busy English channel within 60 kilometres of most major European Channel ports, offering berthing facilities and ancillary services for private pleasure and light commercial craft

Mowlem contracts have clinched the top spots in two categories of the prestigious British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA) 2003.
The new flats are in a supreme location adjacent to the outer harbour wall and are situated near to the large Waterfront retail complex, encompassing a wide selection of restaurants, bars, shops and other attractions.
The building design consists of a concrete frame with rendered blockwork from the ground to first floor for car parking and brick and block from the first to the second floor, with self coloured rendered blockwork from the second to fifth floors.
Wide span pre-cast concrete will be used from the second to fourth floors, with in-situ first floor and timber fifth floor; timber pitched roof on trusses; UPVC windows and decorative balconies.
The building work began earlier this month and is due for completion in August 2005.
