Mirror screen disguises bathroom TV
The eye-catching Aquavision bathroom television is now available from Marata Vision with a mirror screen.
"The DLA-HD1 is a real breakthrough in technology, with just the right price / performance positioning," said Marata's managing director Bob Wheeler.
The projector's suggested selling price is GBP4,500 (incl VAT).
Other projectors achieve high contrast ratios by using an iris in the optical path, which has the effect of reducing brightness and losing detail in shadow or highlight areas.

Pre-Wire Kit Saves Intelligent Lighting Cost
An inexpensive pre-wire kit that allows the future installation of intelligent lighting control is now available from Marata Vision.
However, JVC's DLA-HD1 uses three newly developed 0.7 inch (16:9) full HD D-ILA devices which significantly reduce stray light caused by dispersion and diffraction of reflected light for example.
In addition, its new optical engine uses wire grid polarisers to dramatically improve the precision of light polarisation, preventing light leakage into the projection lens and thus allowing the closest to true black reproduction.
The DLA-HD1 is also the answer to many an installer's prayers, with optical features such as a high precision, all glass zoom lens with a really useful throw ratio range from 1.37:1 to 2.75:1.
It also has an impressive vertical lens shift of +/- 80%.
(This means the projector can be positioned vertically anywhere between 30% of image height above or below the image!) Air intake and exhaust ports are located at the front of the unit, allowing it to be positioned close to a rear wall or in a projector lift or cabinet without fear of overheating.
High quality picture performance is provided by the Gennum Corporation's GF9351 video processor, which ensures faithful reproduction of images thanks to a high-precision scaling function and use of the following four VXP technologies: FineEdge edge correction that gets rid of the jaggy artefacts so common on diagonal lines.
FidelityEngine imaging technology that improves detail while reducing noise.
TruMotionHD de-interlacing technology that supports HD signals (1080i), converting them to high-quality 1080p signals for playback.
RealityExpansion 10-bit image processing technology at a level comparable to that of broadcast masters.
As expected with a product of this class, there is a full complement of analogue and dual HDMI inputs plus extensive picture calibration via the illuminated remote control to bring the full HD cinema experience into the home.
"JVC have done their homework, researched the market and delivered a truly remarkable product which has to be seen to be believed," continued Bob Wheeler.
"I am really excited by the HD1, which is set to become the projector of choice for dealers and installers in the home theatre market.".
