Leading contractor Multibuild has been awarded a £2.4 million full turnkey contract to design, construct, fit-out and furnish an independent hotel in the new Manchester North Business Park.

One of the UK's fastest growing contractors Multibuild will be entirely responsible for the creation of the hotel, from laying the building's foundations to the coat hangers in the wardrobes Upon completion, the fully inclusive contract will allow the hotel staff to simply walk in and open the doors to the public

The 'MC2 Hotel' on Oldham Road, Newton Heath is an independent venture between local businessmen James McGarr and Christopher McCarrick, which aims to serve businesses within the prestigious new 80 acre industrial park and sport fans travelling to the nearby City of Manchester Stadium.

Featuring a modern and simplistic interior design, 'MC2' will provide quality three star accommodation with a caf? bar and function facilities for up to 200 people.

Stockport-based Multibuild will construct the timber frame building using a fast-track method enabling a tough 32 week construction schedule.

Completion of the hotel is scheduled for September 2004.

The all-encompassing 'MC2 Hotel' contract follows the success of Multibuild's first full turnkey hotel contract for the 116 bedroom, Big Blue Hotel which was created as part of the Blackpool Pleasure Beach theme park.
