Multibuild To Build £1.4m
Psychiatric Unit
Multibuild has been awarded a £1.4m contract from Covenant Healthcare for the construction of a new adult psychiatric facility is located in Gisburn, Lancashire.
The new Churchill Gisburn Clinic will be situated on the grounds of an 18th century Georgian country mansion, so the building's exterior will be sympathetic to that of the original 18th century brickwork, rendering and stone, to preserve the character of the area Situated on the bank of the River Ribble, the new unit will aim to provide patients with a tranquil environment and will consist of 15 private bedrooms with en-suite facilities
The unit will provide separate areas for male and female patients and a communal day room, dining room, gymnasium, games room, therapy rooms and consultation rooms.
The contract will run simultaneously with a second project awarded by Covenant Healthcare, for the creation a cosmetic surgery hospital in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
The 32 week project is due for completion in December 2004.
