Blackpool Pleasure Beach has awarded leading contractor Multibuild a £2.5 million contract to extend The Big Blue Hotel.

Building on the fantastic success of The Big Blue Hotel since it opened last year, Blackpool Pleasure Beach has awarded leading contractor Multibuild a £2.5 million contract to extend the hotel With a consistently achieved high occupancy rate, the 116 bedroom Big Blue Hotel proved to be an instant success with resort visitors, and is getting a new 40 bedroom wing to cope with the constant demand

The new wing will include 24 double rooms, 12 family rooms and four luxurious penthouses, each with three bedrooms, a separate lounge/dining area and balconies overlooking the park.

The Big Blue Hotel, originally built by Multibuild in a £4.3m 'all encompassing' full turnkey contract, was the first hotel to be built in Blackpool in 25 years and became an impressive addition to the resort.

The new wing will be constructed in a similar way and is due for completion in June 2005.

The new extension will see Multibuild and their design consultants the Allison Pike Partnership working closely with the Pleasure Beach management to design, build, fit-out and furnish the new hotel wing.
