Multibuild to undertake two contracts totalling million pounds for the refurbishment of two city centre office buildings in Manchester and Birmingham.

Leading contractor Multibuild has been selected by the North's largest commercial property developer, Bruntwood, to undertake two contracts totalling GBP 1million for the refurbishment of two city centre office buildings in Manchester and Birmingham In a GBP 630k contract Multibuild will be converting the basement of No

117 Portland Street, a listed building within Manchester City Centre, into high specification office space.

The 700m2 basement will be refurbished and fitted-out, with Multibuild damp-proofing the walls and floors, carrying out minor structural works, installing new raised-access oak floors and a new ceiling, configuring all electrical and communications systems, and installing office partitioning to create office suites and meeting rooms.

The second contract is for the redevelopment of the reception within the Cornwall Buildings on New Street, Birmingham.

The GBP 500k contract will see Multibuild carrying out major structural works to increase the size of the ground floor reception and create a lounge area within it.

Multibuild will also be refurbishing toilet facilities on three floors of the building.

The projects will be carried out simultaneously alongside another major project for Bruntwood, a GBP 3.8million contract for the redevelopment of the No 1 Portland Street office building, also in Manchester City Centre.
