Multibuild worked on the 30-week project in conjunction with AC Liani architects, and the Blue Bell Hotel is the first completion in the chain.
Barry Smith of Christian Spencer Leisure says, "The Blue Bell is a three-storey, 40 bed travel inn built on a former railway station two miles outside Barnsley on the main A628 road".
"The hotel has a warm, friendly atmosphere intended to attract families with children as well as local drinkers".
The 45 degree curved design reflects the prominent position of the hotel on the roundabout with the building's shape echoing the curve of the road.
The ground floor comprises a 250 cover restaurant, including a traditional pub/bar area with children's play zone.
The first and second floors include family, single and double rooms.
The hotel also boasts meeting and banqueting facilities.
Gary Wilson, operations manager from Multibuild, adds, "We worked faithfully to AC Liani's concept and we are all really pleased with the results for the Blue Bell hotel".
"We hope this will be the start of a long and fruitful relationship with New Country Inns.".
