"People are absolutely fundamental to our business," comments Chief Executive Mike Peden.
"If we are to provide the very best service we can to our customers it's essential that we give our people the training, development opportunities and support which they need to keep their skills up to scratch.
This is especially important because the nature of our business means that our staff are spread across a large number of sites throughout the UK.
In order to achieve the high standards required for the Award Multibuild created new processes designed to improve the effectiveness of communications with its site staff, and also implemented new staff appraisal procedures.
The latter involved the creation of a new appraisals system based around performance improvements generated through the use of SMART objectives.
"It's extremely encouraging to see a business like Multibuild that places such a genuine emphasis on the role played by its employees," comments Greater Manchester Chamberlink's Will Kilby who presented the Award.
"Multibuild's training programme covers a very wide range of topics from health and safety and role-specific technical skills through to management training.
The inclusion of such diverse areas will pay dividends not only for the employees themselves, but also for the company as a whole.".
