Multibuild has completed the construction and interior fit-out of a new waterside development at Barton Turns Marina, Burton-upon-Trent in a contract worth over GBP5.3 million.

To service the flourishing marina within the development, Multibuild has constructed a public house with additional retail units and a conference centre, after constructing the initial vacant shell in the initial phase of the development Additional works included a fit-out of management accommodation, staff room and main kitchen areas and saw Multibuild working with specialist subcontractors on-site for all electrical and mechanical installations

Works took place alongside the existing marina which created various health and safety risks on-site.

Multibuild's experienced site management team worked closely with the client, Barton Turns Development .

to co-ordinate a structured site management plan which minimised the impact of the works on other areas of the development.

A further challenge posed on-site was the construction of a bridge across the existing lake to improve pedestrian access to the new public house and retail space.

Gary Wilson, Operations Manager for Multibuild comments:"This was a particularly challenging project for us due to the access issues in and around the site".

"We worked hard to develop a plan on-site that would reduce the impact of the works whilst still meeting the needs of Barton Turns Development".

"The team are very pleased with the final result and we hope that visitors to the marina will enjoy the improvements that have been made.".
