Mumford and Wood, the specialist manufacturer of premium timber windows and doors, has achieved Secured by Design accreditation for Conservation entrance doors and new casement windows.
This endorsement of approval follows intensive investment in time and financial resources to put both windows and doors through rigorous third party laboratory testing of windows that comply with BS7950 and doorsets to PAS24.
"We have invested heavily in achieving this level of security in our products," says Chris Wood, Managing Director, Mumford and Wood .
"We are confident that our products not only achieve the highest possible thermal efficiency ratings but provide security and peace of mind without any compromise in design and aesthetics." The new flush fitting casement is traditionally styled and comes with many desirable and technical features that set a new benchmark in window design.
Available to order, these windows are energy rated and meet the requirements of Code for Sustainable Homes.
The BRE Green Guide certifies the company's environmental manufacturing processes achieve an A+ rated window which racks up maximum credits in the Code for Sustainable Homes.
In this, the higher the credit points the closer specifiers and developers will come to achieving zero carbon rated homes scheduled by 2016.
High performance windows and doors contribute towards the control of energy and CO2 emission adding to the cumulative point score to CSH Level 6.
In meeting the Secured by Design Enhanced Security British Standard 7950, the traditional appearance of the design conceals the robust ironmongery that will withstand repetitive and extreme impact tests.
These BSI Kitemarked, fully factory finished products are manufactured from truly sustainable laminated and engineered premium quality Larch which is naturally durable and achieves a consistent and knot-free surface.
Here the BRE Green Guide A+ rating for use of certified timber contributes towards CSH total points count.
