With the introduction of Feed-in Tariffs next month homeowners will not only save money on their energy bills by installing features such as solar panels but will also receive an income for all the electricity they generate.
Last week Ed Milliband unveiled a Pay as You Save (PAYS) scheme that will offer consumers long term low cost loans to install green technology.
A pilot scheme through the Energy Saving Trust (talk to them on stand M42) is about to get off the ground.
Homeowners in Birmingham, Sunderland, London Borough of Sutton and Stroud will be able to give their house an energy efficiency makeover and pay back the cost out of savings on their energy bills.
If they generate their own electricity they will be able to use the income they get from the Feed-in Tariff scheme to help pay back the loan.
