The national Skillbuild competition aims to promote excellence among young people entering the construction industry.
Over 100 apprentices from ten different trades competed against each other over three days of competition for the coveted national champion in their trade.
The competitors worked on identical projects in their categories and were judged by experts for skill, accuracy and the application of practical knowledge.
The final was held on 12-14th October 2005 at the North Glasgow College in Springburn.
Bill Donnelly, manager of National Construction College Scotland, said; "We are extremely proud of our students who have done so well at this year's Skillbuild competition.
It is a credit to both the hard work of the students and the quality of our instructors at NCC.
"According to the latest figures from CITB-ConstructionSkills' Skills Foresight Report 88,000 new people are needed in craft, technical and management roles every year until 2007, so it is important that these young achievers act as role models for young people considering construction as a future career option." The National Construction College is the training division of CITB-ConstructionSkills and is the largest provider of training for the construction industry in the UK, offering both young apprentices and adult students a wide range of specialist construction training.
The college has five sites in the country, which, along with 60 or so other locations across the UK, help provide construction training for over 30,000 people every year.
