CECA and NCC team up to boost businesses
The National Construction College has launched a new management course in partnership with the Civil Engineering Contractors Association.
New management course aimed at helping directors and senior managers of small companies improve the profitability of their business The course, which is available at a variety of locations across the country, has been designed to meet the specific needs of SMEs in developing their businesses and is structured to minimise the impact of the absence of directors and senior management

NCC and JCB to create specialist training
The National Construction College (NCC) joins forces with leading plant manufacturer, JCB, to create specialist training.
The course, which will be delivered twelve times this year, lasts four days with each day being separated by a six week gap where delegates receive individual telephone coaching sessions.
Heather Bliss, Key Account Manager for the National Construction College, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for those at management level in small companies to learn more about themselves and their business".
"The instructor, David Harrison, has been working very hard on redeveloping the course for smaller businesses and initial feedback from the first three sessions has been very good".

National Construction College (NCC) and CITB-ConstructionSkills are participating in a European Union funded initiative to improve standards of scaffolding and access training across Europe.
"Out of 84 places available for the first half of the year we have filled 80, so interest is high and it is proving to be very popular".
The course is based on a five-day course developed by Optima in conjunction with Edmund Nuttall , which was delivered across Edmund Nuttall with great success.
Joe Johnson, Director of Training at CECA, said: "There has been a demand for this type of training for a long time".
"Directors and managers from SMEs tend to be forgotten when training is being developed and they do have specific needs".
"We are delighted to work with NCC in the national delivery of the course and have found the help and advice provided by Heather Bliss and her team to be valuable".
"The first presentations of the course are all fully booked and we are confident this will be repeated for the summer presentations".
The NCC currently offers a wide range of management courses, seminars and workshops suitable for directors, managers, supervisors and graduates.
Courses include the Construction Managers Award, the Construction Supervisors Award, Site Management Safety Training Scheme and new for 2008 is the NVQ Level Five for Construction Management and Construction Project Management.
The NCC offers both young apprentices and adult students a wide range of specialist courses, delivered by experienced instructors at first class training facilities.
It has six sites around the UK which provide training to more than 30,000 people each year.
It also offers training courses at over 60 other locations and also at a company's premises or site.
