David Boyden, Director of the National Construction College said: "According to the recent Construction Skills Network Report 88,400 new recruits will be needed every year to meet demand in the UK construction industry until at least 2012.
Apprenticeships are an excellent way for young people to get a foot on the career ladder in construction, but it is only with the support of the companies who send apprentices to the College that together we are able to build the construction workforce of the future.
"These awards offer businesses association with the College and the chance to celebrate the achievements of those starting out in the industry, providing them with the motivation to go on to build a solid and successful career in this buoyant sector." Companies are being offered a variety of sponsorship opportunities including overall sponsorship of the College's four award ceremonies, sponsorship of one skill area, ranging from Health and Safety to General Construction or sponsorship of one award of choice.
The packages offer an array of benefits including awareness raising, networking opportunities and associated PR and advertising opportunities.
The National Construction College offers both young apprentices and adult students a wide range of specialist courses, delivered by experienced instructors at first class training facilities.
It has six sites around the UK which provide training to more than 30,000 people each year.
It also offers training courses at over 60 other locations and also at a company's premises or site.
If you would like to find out how you can become involved in the award ceremonies please contact the College's events department on 01485 577785.
