A National Construction College product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 25, 2008

National Construction College, Europe's largest construction training provider, has launched its training programme for 2009.

There are now more than 250 specialist courses on offer at six dedicated sites across the UK.

This year, the National Construction College is providing training at two new sites; the new NCC Scotland in Inchinnan, near Glasgow, and NCC East London.

The Scotland site offers a range of specialist training at new state-of-the-art facilities including the second largest scaffolding training centre in the UK.

The NCC East London site provides outstanding plant training for construction workers on the Olympic site and other large scale regeneration projects in the surrounding area.

The NCC has expanded its range of first class training courses to now include a whole suite of management and leadership courses.

Construction managers can receive training that will enable them to make the most of their apprentices with the 'Inspiring and coaching your apprentice' course, and also help direct the company to a bright future with the Institute of Directors (IoD) Diploma in company direction.

Other management courses include Introduction to Leadership and Management, Planning and Productivity, Sustainable Construction, and Managing Design, Quality and Innovation to name but a few.

The College has also introduced a two-day 'Introduction to the management of tower cranes', which will ensure that those involved in or responsible for the management of tower cranes are aware of applicable legislation, their responsibilities and industry best practice.

Andy Walder, commercial manager of the National Construction College, said: "The training we are now offering at the college is more extensive than ever before, we have been listening to industry needs and developing courses to meet these demands".

"Training is vital for every individual in the construction industry whether you are a site worker or a manager".

"Well trained staff will give companies the competitive edge they need to get ahead of the game and stay there, which is vital with today's current economic climate".

"It is especially important for managers to be well trained so that they can lead their company to a successful future and win new business".

The National Construction College offers outstanding training to both young apprentices and adult students for a wide range of specialist courses, which are delivered by experienced instructors at first class training facilities.

The College's six sites across the country provide training for more than 30,000 people per year.
