NCC on protecting yourself against the downturn
National Construction College has launched a new course to help companies ensure that they have the skills to manage difficult economic circumstances.
The economic downturn has had a severe effect on many sectors of the construction industry and businesses of all sizes are feeling the pressure as the industry witnesses a sharp contraction.
Business that want to survive the crisis and prepare for the upturn are making the necessary investments now, and the National Construction College (NCC) has launched a new course to help companies ensure that they have the skills to manage difficult economic circumstances.
The three day 'Managing Through the Downturn' course has been designed for business managers to improve the performance and productivity of their businesses by focussing on five key areas.
These include revitalising business plans, improving business productivity, managing and motivating the workforce, focusing on the customer and planning for the future.
The five modules delivered over three days will supply delegates with the practical skills and knowledge needed to help make their businesses succeed during the downturn.
The course will be delivered one day a week over a three week period and also on a block basis, and will be available at a variety of locations across the country.
Taught by the College's first-class instructors, delegates will receive expert advice helping them to get ahead of the game.
Andy Walder, director of the National Construction College, which is the training division of ConstructionSkills, said: "Surviving the economic downturn is a factor at the forefront of everyone's minds at the moment".
"We at the National Construction College are aiming to equip businesses of all sizes with the skills and training they need to get through these difficult times, which will also put them in a stronger business position ready for when the industry inevitably comes out of this downturn".
The NCC delivers outstanding training to more than 30,000 adults and apprentices every year at its seven sites across the UK.
