Havelok Homes lone workers have Soloprotect
Identicom lone worker device from SoloProtect from Connexion2 provides protection for front line personnel at Havelok Homes.
Front line personnel at Havelok Homes are in the driving seat when it comes to managing their own safety thanks to the technically advanced Identicom lone worker device from SoloProtect, a best-of-breed protection service from Connexion2.
An integral part of the Longhurst Group, Havelok Homes is the second Housing Association within the Group to select the Identicom solution for its lone workers.
Established in 1975 and a member of the Longhurst Group since 2003, Havelok Homes is the largest Housing Organisation based in the North East Lincolnshire area, providing housing for over 1700 households.
As front line staff such as Housing Officers, Housing Support workers, Customer Services Staff and Maintenance Officers work closely with Residents and from time to time face challenging situations, Havelok Homes decided to mirror Group member, Spire Homes, and adopt the Identicom lone worker solution.
Chosen by Havelok Homes for its ease of use and ability to allow employees to participate fully in managing their own safety, Connexion2's SoloProtect combines the five-core elements that are essential for a credible and complete lone worker solution.
These include the award winning Identicom device, SIM and inclusive airtime, user training, 24 hour manned monitoring and unique TotalCare pre and post sale customer support.
Originally selected by Dean Geraghty, Group Health and Safety Manager at the Longhurst Group, Identicom has proved an unequivocal success since it was adopted by Spire Homes in 2006.
"Identicom is a perfect product as it hits all the targets thereby enabling Group members to easily manage lone worker safety", said Dean Geraghty.
It is simple to operate, very user friendly and provides a win, win, win situation for the organisation, workers and their families", he concluded.
SoloProtect combines the market leading lone worker protection device with a 24/7 manned monitoring service accredited to the highest UK standard, BS5979 Cat II, through a partnership with Reliance Security, an established market leader in the provision of electronic security solutions.
SoloProtect provides end user training, which has been delivered to thousands of lone workers.
"We currently have 35 Identicom units which are used by 64 personnel who regularly receive refresher training to ensure they are fully conversant with the system.
Our staff and the wider Organisation now have peace of mind knowing that help can be quickly and discreetly summoned", said Ann Patchitt, PA to the Director of Operations: Care, Support and Community Services at Havelok Homes.
When an employee feels they are entering a hazardous situation, they press an amber alert button, providing important location information to SoloProtect's monitoring centre.
If the red alert is then pressed the centres' support staff can discreetly listen in to what is happening and make an assessment as to the level of support required - involving the police if necessary and verify the user's location through the amber alert and location positioning technology.
In the event of a verbal confrontation, the Centre can also record the conversation for future action.
