The Apollo Group selects SoloProtect

A Connexion2 product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 1, 2009

One of the UK's fastest growing property groups, Apollo, has purchased Identicom units as part of the SoloProtect best-of-breed protection service.

Now members of the169-strong team have peace of mind knowing that they are being monitored in potentially hazardous situations and can discreetly summon help if required.

Established in 1976, the Apollo Property Services Group has over 30 years experience of working successfully within the public and private sectors.

The group originally established its credentials in the challenging London and South East regions where it retains a strong presence today.

The Resident Liaison Team operates as the interface between the residents, sub-contractors, client representatives and the Apollo team, dealing with public and private sector projects that range from occupied affordable housing regeneration to social and residential housing developments.

Prior to adopting SoloProtect, the Apollo Group's Resident Liaison Officers carried out their own risk assessment and the company employed a policy of never letting an Officer enter a property alone.

Liaison with colleagues was carried out utilising a signing-in and signing-out system that notified managers where an individual member could be located.

"We trialled Identicom as part of the SoloProtect package and the feedback was excellent.

stated Vicci Flack, Resident Liaison Manager at the Apollo Group.

"Identicom provides our Officers with peace of mind and is an invaluable asset for lone worker safety".

Chosen by the Apollo Group for its excellent service, Connexion2's SoloProtect combines the five-core elements that are essential for a credible and complete lone worker solution.

These include the award winning Identicom device, SIM and inclusive airtime, user training, 24 hour manned monitoring and unique TotalCare pre and post sales customer support package.

"SoloProtect ticks all the boxes by providing us with a total solutions package", said Vicci.

"The Identicom lone worker device provides our Resident Liaison Officers with the infrastructure to manage their own safety and the reassurance they can quickly and discreetly summon help if needed", she concluded.

When an employee feels they are entering a hazardous situation, they press an amber alert button, providing important location information to SoloProtect's monitoring centre.

If the red alert is then pressed the centre's support staff can discreetly listen in to what is happening and make an assessment as to the level of support required - involving the police if necessary and verifying the user's location through the amber alert and location positioning technology.

In the event of a verbal confrontation, the Centre can also record the conversation for future action.
