Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 4, 2008

Conference will be discussing the drivers behind future high-rise developments and will examine which sectors and locations will offer the most opportunity for future development.

Michael Ingall, Chief Executive of Allied London has announced he will be speaking at the NCE Tall Buildings conference.

Michael will be discussing the drivers behind future high-rise developments and will examine which sectors and locations will offer the most opportunity for future development.

His views will be timely, considering the new Mayor of London, Boris Johnson's, recent comment: "London's skyline is precious".

"Tall buildings must be part of London's development, but not at the expense of existing landmarks".

As the Leeds skyscraper development, the Lumiere, is put on hold due to the current economic conditions, the future of tall buildings in the UK looks uncertain.

Nevertheless Antony Oliver, Editor of NCE has said "...this is an exciting time for building tall".

"Although there may be some concern about future developments in the UK, we cannot stand still and we must keep challenging everything we do and create structures that are the pride of the engineering community".

NCE Engineering Tall Buildings 2008 conference will examine technological advances in building skyscrapers, including seismic analysis, servicing tall buildings, vertical transportation and faandccedil;ade design.

The conference will also investigate the latest developments on the Broadgate Tower, the Leadenhall Building, the Pinnacle, plus trends in the Middle East and Mile High Towers.

Speakers at the event include senior representatives from: Arup, WSP, Mott MacDonald, Buro Happold, Hyder Consulting, Faber Maunsell, RWDI Anemos, Hilson Moran, and Make Architects.
