Boris Johnson calls for more housing in
London
Speaking at NHBC's Annual Lunch, Boris Johnson MP, Conservative candidate for Mayor of London, outlined his vision for housing in London in his keynote speech.
Johnson said: "We are going through a period of expansion faster than anything we have seen in the last 40 years, and if that growth is to be successfully managed we need to build houses that will still be loved and respected in 100 years" Imtiaz Farookhi, NHBC's Chief Executive, welcomed Boris Johnson's call to increase the production of homes that people genuinely want to live in
He said: "I am delighted that Boris focused on homeowners, particularly as the industry faces unprecedented pressure at this critical time.
"For 70 years NHBC has been protecting homeowners and that is why we are leading on the important work of developing an Office of Fair Trading compliant code for customer care which will greatly add to homeowner confidence.".
