First Green Maintenance Conference and Exhibition
NHIC is involved in the first UK Green Maintenance Conference and Exhibition which has 300 delegates expected from housing associations, local authorities, and private sector organisations.
This initiative is the result of a partnership involving the CIOB, NHIC, BRE, CIH, SocEnv, EH, GHA, FMB and UWIC.
Pam Ackroyd, Director of Operations, UWIC will open the event.
Confirmed speakers include: James Wates vice president CIOB; Dr Tim Yates of BRE, FCIOB; John Carstensen, chief executive Society for the Environment; Chris Wood, head of building conservation English Heritage; John Edwards English Heritage; Mike Perret independent specialist consultant FCIOB; Bob Chick Gwalia Housing Association; Richard Baylis future skills project manager Construction Skills; and Simon Cousins of UWIC's sustainability faculty.
Subjects that will be covered include: the role of EPCs and energy auditing; Pre and Post 1919 building; Green improvements through planned maintenance; Green solutions to rot and damp; the Green supply chain; Maintaining green houses and future maintenance implications; and Delivering sustainable green maintenance and education and training.
A limited number of exhibition spaces are still available to companies whose products and services are relative to the conference and its objectives.
The UK Green Maintenance Conference and Exhibition 2010 will be held on Thursday 7 January at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff.
