HRH The Duke of York will visit a major construction industry exhibition at Stoneleigh Park, near Coventry, on Tuesday 28 September 2004 The combined Pipelines 2004 and No-Dig Live 2004 event is the UK's principal showcase for the pipeline and 'Trenchless Technology' sectors

It will include live demonstrations of the latest technology, plus indoor displays of equipment and systems from the UK and overseas.

Attending in his capacity as Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, The Duke of York will have a guided tour of the exhibition areas where he will be able to see the machines in action and discuss the leading role played by the UK in promoting advancements in underground technology worldwide.

He will also witness a 'drilling and tapping' demonstration, and visit the WaterAid stand to learn of the progress being made by British engineers in providing safe water supplies to people in developing countries.

The Duke of York's visit follows an invitation from Richard Glenister, Director General of the Pipeline Industries Guild, which is a principal sponsor of the event.

Mr Glenister commented, "The Duke has shown great interest in learning more about how this industry promotes itself both at home and overseas.

His visit to Pipelines 2004 and No-Dig Live 2004 is therefore a magnificent opportunity to demonstrate the very best of British technology which is available for worldwide export.".
