Lisburn partners with Northgate
Lisburn City Council work in partnership with Northgate Information Solutions to increase efficiency and improve customer service within its Environmental Services department.
Lisburn City Council announces that it is working in partnership with Northgate Information Solutions to increase efficiency and improve customer service within its Environmental Services department.
In a three-year contract, Northgate is providing Lisburn with its Building Control, Land Charges and Gazetteer applications as well as a range or online, integration and mobile tools to deliver truly flexible and responsive solutions.
By partnering with Northgate, the council will be able to deliver improved environmental services to local citizens through reducing administration, streamlining business processes and improving access to information.
The council and its customers will benefit from:.
- faster, more accurate and more efficient service delivery, resulting in fewer mistakes and complaints, and a high level of automation reduces time consuming and complicated manual operations, freeing up council staff for other tasks.
- integration between Building Control and the council's electronic document management system, financial system and the 'Submit-a-Plan' website, which allows the public to submit plans electronically - increasing service efficiency.
- mobile access to the Building Control solution, enabling staff to access information when and where they need to - providing a responsive service to citizens and reducing overall inspection costs.
- faster processing of Local Land Charge Searches, with staff able to view progress and run performance reports online.
- a centralised, high quality and BS7666-compliant list of addresses and locations, which will enable residents to notify the council of their change of address once, without having to repeat the process for different service areas.
Councillor William Leathem, Chairman of Lisburn City Council's Planning Committee, said today: "Our aim is to assist in the creation of a safe and accessible built environment".
"We are committed to meeting the needs of our customers as part of this process".
"This means providing staff and citizens alike with improved access to information to enable faster, more accurate and more efficient service delivery".
"We are delighted to be working with Northgate to deliver these improvements and in order to achieve the best results for our people".
Russell Osborne, Managing Director of Land and Property at Northgate Public Services, added: "Councils across Northern Ireland are collaborating with Northgate to enable their staff to deliver high quality services that are responsive to the evolving needs of their citizens - particularly as they face the challenges of the Review of Public Administration".
"We are delighted to be working in partnership with Lisburn City Council, and providing our Land and Property solutions as part of their exciting drive to deliver first class public services".
