Timber firm records best ever sales
North Yorkshire Timber has achieved its best ever monthly sales figure in the company's 28 year history - GBP1.4 million.
The record figure is part of increased trading across all NYT's six sales centres - Ripon, Richmond, Northallerton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Sunderland - plus County Durham-based Builders' Merchants Ward and Naylor, which NYT acquired last year Nick Kershaw, sales and marketing director said: "The continued growth in an increasingly competitive market is based on commitment to providing excellent service, the quality of the product range and reliability on deliveries

Major New Programme On Off-Site Production
CIRIA are to lead a major programme on off-site production.
"We're stocking more builders' merchants products as well as timber so our customers can get all they need in one place.
Our core ranges of softwood carcassing, redwood, sawn and machined hardwood and softwood continue to sell extremely well but offering a wider range of timber and general building products has made the difference".
NYT is also now selling natural stone paving to complement the fencing and decking ranges.
"It's a logical extension to our products for builders and DIY projects," added Nick, "and we have the sole rights to distribute this particular range in the North East".
Each sales centre now has displays for stone paving, hardwood flooring and doors, and fencing and decking.
A programme of investment in the Sunderland branch - Joseph Thompson Timber - is also nearing completion to provide an improved range of facilities.
The GBP100,000 development at the sales and storage centre in Hendon includes new storage areas and more parking for customers.
NYT employs over 140 people and is projecting a turnover of GBP15 million for this year, up GBP2 million on last year.
The company holds environmental certifications from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and Forest Products Chain of Custody (FPCC).
