Swift Fire And Security Selects Vista SmartTel
Swift, the nationwide fire and security specialist, has selected Vista SmartTel as the key transmission platform for its new Video Receiving Centre (VRC), based at Salford, Greater Manchester.
For the first time in 2004, Ian Fowler, Technical Training Manager at Norbain SD and a highly regarded industry commentator, will address the conference on the topic of 'Hybrid Networks: The best of both worlds'.
Ian Fowler explained: "IP is already having a highly significant effect on the development of the CCTV industry but it will be some time before IP dominates the scene.
In the meantime, hybrid networks offer the best route for existing CCTV users who want to enjoy the benefits of IP transmission without investing in a completely new system.
In this presentation I will be exploring the concept of 'Distributed Intelligence', an innovative way to combine IP technology with traditional coaxial transmission and avoid the exponential growth in IP addresses that could otherwise generate a very significant growth in programming and commissioning effort and cost." This year IFSEC 2004 will feature a number of new innovations including the IFSEC Security Research programme.
Events on the show floor will include the Security Advice Centre, Network IP Knowledge Zone and the CCTV Village.
