TDSi's Managing Director, John Davies, explains that the need of installers and end users was paramount in the development of MicroGarde: "Installers need a system that is low cost and easy to install".
"With this in mind we have tried to simplify the product as much as possible".
"From the user's perspective, the software is wizard driven and very quick to learn and use." As part of the unit's development, MicroGarde invited an intruder alarm company with no previous access control experience to undertake a dummy install".
"This went like a dream," confirms John Davies".
"With no instruction the guys had the unit up and running in under half a day".
"It's that easy." MicroGarde takes TDSi into the entry-level user market for the first time.
Full integration capability is built into the unit at a software level to enable the unit to be integrated with other aspects of a security system such as a digital video recorder or biometric device.
Anne Bowden, Norbain's Access Control Product Brand Manager, welcomes MicroGarde as providing customers with even more choice at the lower end of the access control market: "MicroGarde extends choice to the customer offering an attractively low-cost solution without compromising on function or integration capability".
"This will appeal to customers who may wish to develop their access control system as part of a broader security solution at a later date." "As TDSi's largest customer, Norbain is a natural partner with whom to jointly launch MicroGarde," explains John Davies".
""With our IFSEC stand directly opposite Norbain's we are excited at the prospect of a huge level of interest for MicroGarde from our mutual customers.".
