Sainsburys endorses Vista eclipse as 'convincing anti-fraud CCTV solution'.

Ray Waddington, Security Technical Specialist at Sainsbury's, a leading UK food retailer, endorsed Vista eclipse, an innovative 360degree camera technology that Vista believes will transform surveillance operations wherever full situational awareness is essential to a successful surveillance operation Vista is the UK's premier brand of electronic security equipment

Ray Waddington said: "J Sainsbury has never been shy of embracing new technology when the prospective benefit - in terms of improved security and reduced risk - is clear cut".

"Installed in our Camberley Watchmore Park store's cash office and ATM room, the Vista eclipse provides a complete, uninterrupted and around the clock view of everything going on in the room".

"It is the single, most convincing anti-fraud CCTV solution I have ever seen".

"Its deterrent value is immense and its evidential value beyond question".

Duncan Freeman, Senior Project Manager at SSS Management Services Limited is responsible for the specification and installation of the Vista eclipse at Sainsbury's.

A strong advocate of the Vista eclipse, Duncan Freeman emphasised ease of installation amongst its key attractions: "Vista eclipse is the ideal solution for surveillance applications where it is critical to have a complete picture of the environment - all of the time".

"The camera's advanced technology overcomes the limitations of even the most advanced static and dome cameras, and the unit is a dream to install because it is a wholly standalone camera".

"Given the technology involved, the pricing of the unit is remarkable".

The Vista eclipse camera captures a single fisheye image that generates two completely independent analogue outputs.

Each of these can then display any combination of image view from full 180degree panoramic view to up to four virtual cameras (VCAMs), each with independently controllable 'electronic' Pan Tilt Zoom (ePTZ) functionality.

Intelligent 360degree video processing enables advanced alarm functionality that includes the automatic assignment of virtual cameras for motion detection and alarm activation.

Superior subject tracking is provided, with the active 'VCAM' automatically tracking any movement within the camera's field of view.

Vista eclipse motion detection algorithms use state of the art background analysis techniques to minimise false alarms.

Motion detection automatically triggers a VCAM while the camera continues to monitor the full panorama.

Andrew Pigram, Vista Brand Director, believes that such advanced functionality in a self-contained, easy to install unit will prove a very compelling proposition: "The Vista eclipse' is a great solution for those seeking continuous 360degree visibility but offers advantages over conventional multi-camera installs too".

"This is because the unit's design and operation reduces installation and maintenance costs, making the Vista eclipse's multiple 'virtual cameras' a cost effective alternative to the deployment of multiple fixed and high-speed dome cameras".

"So Vista eclipse should be considered an alternative to some traditional multi-camera installs as well as being an addition to the 360degree camera market".

"There are numerous environments where this technology will be found highly effective, particularly sensitive locations such as cash rooms, interview rooms, safe rooms, retail outlets, pubs, public areas and other locations where a permanent unrestricted field of view is essential".

"Vista eclipse is a very discreet install which is clearly advantageous too".

Containing no moving parts and with all required imaging software embedded in the camera itself, the Vista eclipse requires no external software or PC's and is easier and cheaper to install than conventional and 360degree alternatives.

Exclusive to Vista, the Vista eclipse is only available through Norbain, Video Imaging Supplies and Network Video Centre.
