Vista adds PIR detectors to product portfolio

A Norbain SD product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 22, 2008

Vista has launched its first range of PIR detectors, designed for accurate and reliable outdoor perimeter protection, irrespective of weather conditions.

A range of technologies has been employed to ensure the range achieves the best accuracy available on the market.

For example, Adaptive Threshold Discrimination technology reduces the number of nuisance alarms.

This works by continually averaging background noise and adjusting the alarm threshold, allowing sensitivity to be automatically adjusted to suit site conditions.

Double curtain coverage ensures that alarms caused by, for example, air turbulence are eliminated as any signal received at the sane time by the two curtains will be rejected.

Internal temperature compensation prevents internal condensation and ensures reliable operation, even under extreme weather conditions.

"When combined with the Vista PowerDome and Smart video transmission product lines, the VID range of PIR detectors allows Vista to provide a full solution for external video surveillance and detection," says Mark Pritchard, Vista's divisional director.

"The range uses the latest advancements in PIR technology whilst still retaining the all important reliability along with low maintenance and running costs.".
