How To Be Sarkey And Get Away With It

A Natural Building Technologies product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 29, 2003

Natural Building Technologies, specialises in ecological building materials and introduces Isolair, a robust, interlocking, water-resistant sarking board with excellent thermal insulation properties.

The Isolair boards provide a quick, easy and cost-effective solution for roofing and, as part of a structural design, can guarantee a waterproof, breathable and moisture resistant roof.

Isolair can even be exposed to the climate during construction, without protection, for a period of at least three months.

The boards improve acoustic performance and considerably reduce summer over-heating in the loft - particularly important when this is used as a working or living space.

The boards are environmentally sustainable and can be used in either new build or renovation applications.

They are made from sustainable Pinewood waste with a 5% latex mix.

The resulting compressed woodfibre board contain s no glue or wood preservers, yet offers rigidity, an impressive K value (thermal) of just 0.050 Wm-2K-1 (at a density of 250 kgm3), a B2 fire rating and a vapour permeability (æ) of 5.

Roof loadings to EN V 1991 can be supported.

The boards are supplied in standard size of 2500 mm x 770 mm and with thicknesses of 22, 35 or 52 mm.
