Ecological Ultra High Roof Insulation Values

A Natural Building Technologies product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 24, 2004

Natural Building Technologies has launched Isolair 60, a robust, 60 mm thick, interlocking, water-resistant sarking board with extremely impressive thermal insulation.

When used as part of a simple system of tiles, Isolair 60, rafters with normal wool insulation and a plasterboard skin, it produces a roof with a U value of just 0.2! The Isolair boards provide a quick, easy and cost-effective solution for roofing and can guarantee a waterproof, breathable and moisture resistant roof.

Made from sustainable Pinewood waste with a 5% latex mix they are environmentally sustainable and can be used in either new build or renovation applications.

The resulting compressed woodfibre board contains no glue or wood preservers, yet offers rigidity, a B2 fire rating and a vapour permeability (æ) of 5.

Roof loadings to EN V 1991 can be supported.

Isolair 60 can be exposed to the climate during construction, without protection, for a period of at least three months.

The boards improve acoustic performance and considerably reduce summer over-heating in the loft particularly important when it is used as a working or living space.

The boards are supplied in standard size of 2500 mm x 770 mm.
