New Plaster For Old

A Natural Building Technologies product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 30, 2004

New range of natural renders and plasters, explicitly designed to overcome the problems of renovations.

Natural Building Technologies, specialists in natural and ecological products for buildings, has introduced a range of four plasters and renders explicitly for internal or external rendering or plastering of renovation projects.

The range includes a salt protection white cement and trass render basecoat (Bayosan SPHIQB) plus its topcoat (Bayosan SPHIQT), an hydraulic lime renovation plaster, also for salt control (Bayosan SP64R), and a breathable, thermal and acoustic lightweight filling compound (Bayosan LTM81).

These renders and plasters can make a huge difference to the performance of a structure.

On the outside it is vital for nearly all constructions that the vapour resistance is low, to ensure that no moisture is trapped.

It is also critical that the render system fully protects the building from rain penetration and physical impact.

NBT render systems have been developed through years of experience, to deal with both these requirements.

On the inside of the building the critical issue is not only how the internal skin allows moisture to pass through it but also how it holds and regulates moisture.

The effect of this combination of internal and external plasters and renders is that many of the problems of üsick building syndromeý such as asthma, moulds, bronchial illnesses etc, are minimized - and a healthy and comfortable living environment is assured.

And, at the same time as doing this they are providing valuable protection to the actual fabric of the building.
