Hemp and recycled cotton fibre insulation

A Natural Building Technologies product story

Natural Building Technologies launch "Isonat" - a natural, ecologically sound, high-insulation material made from hemp and recycled cotton fibres.

Natural Building Technologies, which is a leader in developing sustainable building materials, is launching "Isonat" - a natural, ecologically sound, high-insulation material made from hemp and recycled cotton fibres.

It is ideal for both new buildings and renovations.

With a thermal conductivity of just 0.039 W/mK the new insulation batts can not only help to meet or exceed the current Building Regulations but can absorb and release moisture without significant loss of thermal resistivity.

This gives an extra margin of safety against the formation of interstitial condensation making it suitable for both 'breathing' and conventional constructions.

Isonat is authorised for use throughout the EU and is supplied in 50, 80 and 100 mm thicknesses, 1200 mm length and either 400 or 600 mm widths.

Its fibres are treated with inorganic salts to provide fire and pest resistance and the product is both simple to install and non-irritant to touch.

It is effective in reducing the transmission of airborne and impact sound through the building.

The new insulation can be used in lofts, within walls and under floors and offers significant technical, performance and environmental benefits compared to conventional mineral and cellular plastic insulants.

Isonat is treated with Boron salts to provide a B2 fire rating.
