Oasys Launches New Software At Interbuild
At Interbuild Oasys, the software house of Arup, launches new software for e-mail management and showcases a number of features recently added to its geotechnical, CAD and document management software
Called Mail Manager, the software was originally developed for consulting engineers, but will solve the problem of filing emails and attachments in a consistent and efficient way for any users.
Mail Manager is simple to install and works as a plug-in to Microsoft Outlook 2000 and above.
It centralises management of e-mail, improves information availability and comes with a reasonable price tag.
Oasys will be part of Interbuild's IT Showcase, a platform for technology companies offering a service to the construction industry.
Oasys also showcases a number of features recently added to its geotechnical, CAD and document management software.
Geotechnical software on display includes the GEO suite, software capable of analysing most geotechnical problems.
The GEO suite includes programs for analysis of gravity and flexible retaining walls, prediction of soil movement and slope stability, pile design, and finite element analysis of soils and groundwater.
Structural software on display includes Oasys GSA, a Windows based structural analysis and design package.
As well as the basic and advanced packages, GSA has six specialist modules for functions ranging from concrete slab analysis to fabric analysis.
Another piece of structural software on display will be AdSec for analysis of concrete sections.
Oasys features a range of AutoCAD based tools.
These include CADrebar for concrete detailing, CADplot for plotting without the need to buy further copies of AutoCAD and CADbatch which automates repetitive tasks on AutoCAD drawings.
Another useful software suite on the stand is Oasys' document management offering, comprising Columbus and Archetype.
Columbus is a combined navigator and viewer that lets the user organise data according to their preferred method.
It incorporates both the Stellent and Rasterex viewing engines, which between them can view over 300 different file-formats.
Columbus finds applications in industries as diverse as architecture and facilities management.
Archetype is a mid-range document management system based on Microsoft Access and is predominantly used in the AEC environments.
