To deliver essential services such as gas, electricity and water to a building, cables and pipes have to pass through walls, ceilings and floors, many of which are required to be fire resistant structures.

Fire-stopping products or penetration seals have been developed to maintain fire integrity after services have been installed.

The BS EN 1366-3:2009 European fire test standard, published in 2009, is a detailed method of testing penetration seals, and also provides for CE marking.

As a Notified Body, Chiltern International Fire can assist with both testing and CE marking requirements.

TI-1004 Fire Resistance - Service Penetration Seals Testing is available free of charge by emailing cif@chilternfire.co.uk.
