Global standards achieved by OCS

OCS Engineering awarded ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 accreditations in rapid succession.
OCS Engineering, the specialist technology and engineering division of GBP600 million OCS property support services group, has achieved recognition of its commitment to global standards in environmental and HandS management systems by being awarded ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 accreditations in rapid succession These awards, achieved four months ahead of a tough internal target date, reflect the determination of the business to support its long-standing commitment to providing clients with the highest standards of service and quality excellence delivered safely and in an environmentally-sound way

Congratulating his team on the ISO accreditations, Richard Burl, managing director of OCS Engineering said, "This was a remarkable double achievement and due in no small part to the tireless efforts of our group HSQE advisor, Don Urquhart, who not only took on the personal commitment to revisit and review our procedures and documentation but also worked tirelessly to ensure that we achieved full compliance in every area".

OCS Engineering already held the international quality standard ISO 9001 but also recognised the crucial importance of Health and Safety and Environmental standards in protecting their employees, their clients and the environment in all aspects of their work.
The company believes that by achieving these standards in parallel it has demonstrated that its work is not only up to the highest technical standard but is also carried out in a manner which is consistent, measured, continually improving and wholly accountable.
Richard Burl said, "OCS Engineering has always been proud of the services it offers and the way it goes about delivering them".

Ian Dalgleish, from the assessors QMS Quality Management Systems, paid tribute to what he described as "the investment in people and training that enables OCS Engineering to provide an efficient service which is at all times aware of the importance of Occupational Health and Safety".
OCS Engineering clients range from blue chip financial institutions including international banks and insurance companies to major sports venues and public sector clients.
It is able to offer complete design, construction, installation and maintenance packages for air conditioning, mechanical and electrical services, fire protection and extinguishing systems, CCTV, access control and IT systems.
As part of OCS, it can also call upon the expertise and experience of a group employing 61,000 professionals working across four continents.
Congratulating the OCS Engineering team, OCS chief executive Chris Cracknell said, "Everyone involved should be proud of this significant achievement".
