TracPipe recently saved the day for Thor Penthouses Limited when they were faced with the difficult task of piping gas to three luxury penthouse units, built on the top of pre-existing flats, in Tunbridge Wells.

A delay in getting a plumber on site, meant that gas pipework had to be installed after completion of the buildings, and time was critical.

Faced with this problem, Richard Winhammar, Managing Director of Thor Penthouses Ltd, based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, knew that traditional rigid gas pipework could not be used, without the immense cost of dismantling part of the buildings, and he began to search for a flexible gas pipe that could do the job, and was delighted to find TracPipe stainless steel semi-rigid gas piping system by OmegaFlex.

Said Richard Winhammar "Without TracPipe we would not have been able to do the installation.

Time was of the essence; we couldn't use normal pipe because the building was already built - we needed something that could be threaded through three different structures.

With TracPipe the job took only one hour - its flexibility saved the day." Approximately 90m of 28mm diameter TracPipe was utilized, together with TracPipe's unique AutoFlare fittings, of which Richard Winhammar went on to say were "the simplest connectors we have ever used.

They went together so simply and easily without the need for any welding or special tools".

He added "TracPipe offers incredible ease of installation".

TracPipe conforms to British Standard BS7838 and is kitemarked to this standard by BSI.

Advantica, (originally BG Technology), also approves TracPipe to this standard for working pressures to 75 mbar for 1st 2nd and 3rd family gases.

It is available in a range of diameters from DN12 to DN50 and comes on long length reels, typically up to 75m.

TracPipe can be obtained from nationwide branches of Pipe Center and BSS and from B.E.S.

Ltd (catalogue sales).
