Haki provides temporary roof structure in Europe

A Haki UK product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Sep 3, 2010

Haki has provided a temporary rolling roof for construction work at the University of Utrecht's Faculty of Science, ensuring the project stays on schedule.

This is the first time a Hakitec 750 temporary roof system has been used for a building of this type and scale in the Netherlands.

From the early stages of the project, Haki worked closely with Harsco Infrastructure and the main contractor, Hurks van der linden, to create the system.

Haki UK project engineered the design of the temporary roof to ensure that the structure could be opened and closed by the on-site scaffolding team during the shell construction.

Harsco Infrastructure and Haki then lifted the temporary roof by crane an extra one storey to allow the final construction stage to take place.

These modifications extended its width to 39.4m, resulting in a total surface area of 1,446m2 yet still kept the roof moveable.

Harsco Infrastructure is the sole UK approved hirer of Haki temporary roof and shelter range.
