Arch Timber Protection for IWS-Floor range

An Intelligent Wood Systems product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Mar 15, 2010

Arch Timber Protection has developed a high performance wood treatment for wooden flooring from Intelligent Wood Systems (IWS).

IWS used Ecobuild as a platform to launch its new simple, engineered flooring system.

The flooring is available in just two widths and two depths, to meet all joist, rim and beam applications.

The details were on display with a mock-up IWS-Floor sitting above the stand.

The service voids are pre-machined to allow quick installation of cables, pipes, SVPs and HVAC systems.

Ancillary products such as backer or filler blocks are not required.

The IWS-Floor reduces the range of connectors required and does not have strutting requirements.

IWS has listened to industry feedback and has improved the construction details to assist in the delivery of a higher quality floor performance.

This has enabled the delivery of a significant improvement on current acoustic performance, reducing sound emissions by 44dB without insulation, on 220mm deep joists at 600mm centres on intermediate floors.

Another key benefit over the current market offering is the treatment arrangement IWS have developed with Arch Timber Protection.

The treatment offers high performance resistance to decay and insect attack, whilst protecting against water ingress.

This allows the IWS-UItra timbers to retain their strength and straightness characteristics both during and after the build process.
