Fabrication or installation of metal tube and pipe

An Orbimatic product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 16, 2005

Orbimatic, manufacturer of orbital TIG welding equipment , are inviting any companies involved in fabrication or installation of metal tube and pipe to come to an 'Open House' tour.

Orbimatic (UK) Limited, the manufacturer of technology leading orbital TIG welding equipment are inviting any companies that are directly or indirectly involved in the fabrication or installation of metal tube and pipe to come and take the tube tour at their 'Open House', to be held on 30 November 2005.

Visitors who have an interest in all tube and pipe working can be guided logically around the products on display and will be left with finished samples to take away.

The tour will start with tube and pipe cutting and preparation equipment, these can then be clamped, purged and then tacked ready for transfer into the orbital welding equipment.

With the tubes tacked together they can be inserted into the orbital weld head and welded fully, with a weld data log file printed at the end of the weld to display the exact deviations that occurred during the weld cycle.

Also at this point visitors can see a 'Pulled Tee' being welded to a tube stub and the weld data log file for this weld can be transferred to a PC and printed on a full size printer.

When fully welded, the samples can then be taken to have the oxides removed and the passive layer restored.

The same machine can then be used to apply a permanent identification mark on the material surface.

Once cleaned, the welded samples can be inspected internally to ensure the weld profile is consistent and repeatable internally.

Following this tour, visitors can then take a further look at the other products on display such as tungsten electrode grinders, weld purging equipment and manual welding equipment.
