Bella Italia comes to The Lowry Outlet Mall

Commercial property developer Orbit Developments has strengthened its line-up at The Lowry Outlet Mall with new letting to restaurant operator, Bella Italia.

The restaurant chain, which has over 75 locations across the UK, has taken 3,242 sq ft on a 15-year lease at a rent equivalent to GBP25 per sq ft.

The restaurant, set to open in May, following an extensive 12-week fit out period, will bring an anticipated 20 new jobs to the region.

The Lowry Outlet Mall delivered record footfall in 2008, up 4.5% from 2007 to just below 4 million customers, which has led to rising interest levels from prospective tenants.

Bella Italia will fully complement the existing leisure facilities including the food court, cinema and existing terrace restaurants such as Lime, Pizza Express and Cafe Rouge.

Leasing manager, Keith Hughes commented: "The Mall has proved resilient despite the current economic climate and during January our food-court and restaurants were up 20% on the same period last year".

"Bella Italia will no doubt enjoy fantastic trade when the restaurant opens in late spring, and we are delighted to welcome such an established brand on board".

Situated in a prime location at Salford Quays, close to Mediacity:UK and adjacent to the Lowry theatre, the Mall is easily accessible by road and Metrolink.

"We've been very mindful about the tenants we have at the Mall and are working hard to bring some exciting brands to join us later in the year".

"The flexible leasing agreements we offer make the Mall a good choice for retailers who might be unable to survive in the likes of The Trafford Centre or the Arndale in Manchester due to ever increasing rental costs," Keith adds.

The deal with Bella Italia follows the decision by Professional Cookware to remain in its 1,550 sq ft unit at the Mall, whilst others are being closed nationwide.
