Osram launches lighting sensors for LMS systems

An Osram product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 23, 2010

Osram continues its development in sustainable lighting systems with the introduction of a range of light sensors for use with Light Management Systems (LMS).

High Bay, Duo, Outdoor and Vision are highly efficient sensors, designed to ensure that light is only used when necessary to conserve energy and give lower overhead costs.

Used as part of an LMS, these sensors can significantly reduce the energy consumed by lighting within a building.

High Bay provides simple light control for areas with high ceilings with the ability to work at heights of up to 13m, and features motion detection.

High Bay reduces overhead costs as it is maintenance-free, has low installation costs due to mounting on the ceiling, and low power consumption of 0.8W during operation.

Duo is suitable for offices, residential properties, and retail premises thanks to its dual functionality.

It can operate as a daylight sensor by supplementing the amount of natural daylight entering a room, or as a combination daylight and presence detection unit.

It can be mounted directly onto a ceiling or integrated into a luminaire via a T5/T8 lamp clip.

All functions of this sensor are adjustable thanks to a rotary control on the front.

Vision provides motion detection for large areas and long corridors using PIR technology.

It can be installed up to 4.5m and detect movement up to 21m away.

This sensor features adjustable time delay which benefits from 1 button operation.

Outdoor provides presence and daylight detection for exterior applications.

It has a detection area of up to 16m, a twilight sensor that operates from 1 lux, an adjustable delay time, and 2 button operation to select the different sensor modes.

Outdoor is maintenance free and features low installation costs due to on-wall/on-ceiling mounting.

The product is IP55 classified so can be used externally.
