Oventrop valves control heating at Spa Bridlington

A variety of Oventrop valves have been installed at the Spa Bridlington which has recently undergone a building redevelopment and refurbishment.

Funding for the project was provided by East Riding of Yorkshire Council with the assistance of European Regional Development Fund.

The classic 1930's Royal Hall ballroom and Edwardian theatre have been retained while state-of-the-art technology and new modern facilities have been introduced.

The heating and cooling systems have been upgraded by Airedale Mechanical Services, and includes additional gas fired high efficiency boilers and associated equipment which connect to the distribution pipework serving the low pressure hot water heating system to all areas.

Oventrop supplied a variety of valves including butterfly isolation up to 150mm, Hydrocontrol and Hydromat balancing valves up to 50mm, strainers, ball valves and gas service valves.

Two single head circulating pumps have been installed in parallel to serve the primary heating circuit.

Four other single head pumps mounted in parallel serve the secondary constant and variable temperature circuits.

One 450 litre water storage cylinder in the plantroom serves the kitchen and another serves the remainder of the Spa.

The Spa cylinder includes an additional solar coil to provide preheating from roof-mounted solar panels.

70 wash hand basins have been fitted with thermostatic mixing valves, local isolators, strainers and check valves.
