Samaritans need help from Panther Platform Rentals

A Panther Platforms product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Oct 4, 2007

Panther Platform Rentals recently supplied the Samaritans with a V20 truck mounted boom to take down a large banner that spanned the width of Tunnel Road, just off Reigate High Street in Surrey.

A number of avenues had been explored in aiding the taking down of the 5 metre wide banner, but Panther Platform Rentals came up with a suitable solution.

The Samaritans' Kevin Lewis: "We had trouble in finding someone to help us take down our banner but Panther Platform Rentals offered a quick and easy answer when I approached them".

"I would just like to give a big thank you to them for arranging a machine and operative to come and help take down our banner".

"It was starting to turn into a bit of an embarrassing situation for us as the banner had been up for a fair bit longer than we had intended".

The V20 truck mounted boom was chosen for the job as it has 21.8 metres of working height and 9.5 metres of horizontal outreach, this meant that the operative could take down the banner on both sides of the road without having to move the base of the platform.

It was also important that the job took no more than a few minutes as all work had to be completed before the road became busy with pedestrians and morning traffic.
