A Remedy For All Labelling Dilemmas
Panduit's Panacea new T Ls7 Thermal Transfer Printer is a remedy for all labelling dilemmas.
The combined solution enables the PanView system to send alerts about unexpected changes made to physical layer connections to Netcool/OMNIbus.
The PanView software does this by identifying the precise location of the disconnected patch panel ports.
It also uses the manually created PanView database to identify the work area outlet location and any end user associated with that location.
This association can be periodically updated through scheduled scans of the PanMap function.
The PanView software then sends a message that notifies operations personnel directly via the Netcool console.
Additionally, the PanView system alerts are consolidated and centrally managed with other events collected by Netcool to provide an end-to-end view of the entire network and systems infrastructure.
"Micromuse's relationship with PANDUIT provides the opportunity to help our mutual customers reduce network maintenance costs by providing deeper visibility into the network's physical layer," commented Darin Layman, Vice President of Alliances at Micromuse.
"We are pleased to be working with PANDUIT to deliver an integrated solution that enables our customers to efficiently address problems across their networks and improve time-to-resolution." "Providing network intelligence across all OSI layers is critical to network uptime.
As networks become more complicated and demand higher levels of security, a solution that offers greater visibility into the physical layer will provide customers with further operational cost savings," said Alan Farrimond, PANDUIT Vice President of Business Development.
"By working with Micromuse PANDUIT is able to provide a best of breed solution for more robust and efficient network management.".
