Customers from an ever-increasing range of sectors are recognising the advantages of Styrofoam insulation panels, reports Panel Systems.

Contractors and building designers are all benefiting from its high thermal efficiency, lightweight nature and excellent value for money.

They also appreciate the fact that Panel Systems' products can be ordered online and are delivered to site, quickly and efficiently.

Styrofoam insulation is a rigid extruded polystyrene foam material that provides long term, high performance insulation.

Panel Systems is the UK's leading fabricator and distributor of Styrofoam building products, offering a range of products for walls, floors and roofs in both new builds and refurbishments.

From its base in Sheffield, the company also offers one of the widest ranges of fabricated panels, that again use Styrofoam, for commercial developments.

Panel Systems' Styrofoam panel range includes market leading 'Floormate', which is designed to provide simple and easy to install insulation in a range of domestic and commercial floor constructions.

Many contractors prefer Floormate because of its lightweight nature and high compressive strength that make it a quick and easy product to install.

'Roofmate' from Panel Systems is also made from Styrofoam and is ideally suited to flat roofs because of Styrofoam's resistance to water penetration and excellent thermal efficiency.

When used as a slab panel in either Floormate or Roofmate, Styrofoam panels are available in a range of sizes and thicknesses and, because they are lightweight and completely inert, can be installed quickly and easily on site.

Danny Phelan, Sales Manager of Panel Systems, explains: "Since the recent updates to the thermal performance requirements of buildings, we have seen huge interest in our Styrofoam panels".

"Floormate and Roofmate are definitely the preferred choice with an increasing number of designers and contractors because they allow them to meet the legislation without having to change established site practice".

In addition to Roofmate and Floormate, Panel Systems offers a complete range of complimentary Styrofoam-based insulation components to provide customers with a complete solution.

This includes Perimate that is designed to be used in the insulation of basement walls and which incorporates drainage channels that protect against blockages by a bonded layer of geotextile.

It also protects the tanking material from damage during construction or backfilling.

Styrofoam insulation has a unique closed-cell structure that makes it resistant to moisture and water vapour.

As the material won't rot or allow the development of fungi or mildew, it permanently retains its insulation properties and will not deteriorate like some other materials.

Styrofoam insulation is strong enough to be used in all insulation applications, such as walls, roofs, ceilings and load bearing areas under the slabs and floors.

In addition, Styrofoam insulation will not sag or slump.

Danny Phelan continues, "With the legislation around energy efficiency of buildings being tightened all the time, we are encouraging all our customers to look at the advantages of using our Styrofoam based products".

"More contractors are using it because it is such a robust material, as well as being extremely easy to handle and install on site".

Panel Systems has recently upgraded its website to make choosing and ordering Styrofoam based products even easier.

Being one of the largest users of Styrofoam in the UK, the company can offer exceptional service levels as well as some of the most competitive prices on the market.
