Panel Systems offers benefits with Styroclad

A Panel Systems product story

Panel Systems is reporting good response from contractors since the launch of two new types of roof insulation boards.

The Styroclad range is renowned for helping contractors to address issues such as insulating semi-exposed concrete decks or soffits, as well as reducing cold bridging on upstands or parapets in roof applications.

The Styroclad boards are manufactured from 6mm fibre-cement board, which is bonded to high performance insulation.

Extremely lightweight and easy to use, Styroclad can be fixed directly or indirectly to an external structure using suitable mechanical fixings.

The three types of Styroclad insulation include standard Styroclad, Styroclad A and Styroclad Plus.

Each type is available in 2,500x1,200mm sheet sizes to maximise coverage and is easy to cut and light in weight, which enables speedy dry installation.

Styroclad A was introduced specifically to address the issue of cold bridging on roof parapets and upstands, preventing them from becoming a 'cold-sink', drawing heat from inside the building.

Manufactured from Panel Systems' technically advanced Styrofoam A-foam that uses recycled carbon dioxide as the blowing agent, it is suitable for applications requiring an enhanced BREEAM rating.

The A-foam has an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of zero and a global warming potential (GWP) of one.

Styroclad Plus is manufactured with Phenolic foam insulation, which is Class 'O' rated and has a Class 1 surface spread of flame.

Styroclad Plus also achieves an enhanced BREEAM rating, with Phenolic insulation having an ozone depletion potential of zero and a global warming potential of three.

Styroclad's fibre-cement facing board is Class 'O' fire rated and has a Class 1 surface spread of flame.

The facing board, which is self-finished and requires no additional decoration, also provides a dimensionally stable, impact and weather resistant facing to the Styroclad insulation.

Another major advantage of Styroclad is that it has no health and safety issues either, as the board does not contains harmful fibres and can easily be cut on site.

Panel Systems is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of insulation products, composite panels, structural foams and flexible staging systems.
