Students from St Paul's Catholic College, Burgess Hill reached both 5th and 7th place in the Greenpower Formula 24 Final.

Passivent has joined forces with Greenpower to ensure young people have the opportunity to learn about mechanics and technology in a real-life situation.

Greenpower is supported by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

The aim of the partnerships is to encourage students to apply eco-friendly solutions to engineering and technology through the design, development and physical racing of electrically powered cars.

Passivent has developed cars that employ a 24volt electric wheelchair motor and four 12 volt car batteries as a power source.

Passivent has helped manufacture the car panels using its recycled ABS material and water based colouring technology used in its Airstract and Airscoop ventilation roof terminals.

Passivent has also helped to engineer the aluminium box frame chassis, demonstrating to students how to TIG weld by applying in-house expertise in the fabrication of Aircool louvres.

Passivent is focused on improving school study conditions though its natural ventilation product range, giving the company a natural synergy with Greenpower.
