Passivent offers ventilation system software
Passivent launches an assessment and modeling software programme for the specification of its Airscoop roof mounted ventilation terminals.
Passivent worked alongside Environmental Design Solutions (EDSL) in the development of the Passivent Airscoop Builder programme which applies to Passivent's Airscoop roof mounted ventilation terminals.
The software tool is aimed at architects and specifiers who need to accurately forecast the impact of natural ventilation components on a building's thermal performance.
Airscoop Builder is designed to interface with EDSL's Tas building thermal analysis tool.
Airscoop Builder utilises real life test data in together with experimental results to provide an accurate modeling tool.
The programme accelerates the assessment process, automatically providing the geometry, construction materials and performance parameters of each selected Airscoop model.
Passivent Airscoop provides natural ventilation and is suitable in high heat gain locations.
Passivent Airscoop is a roof mounted terminal divided diagonally into four chambers.
Wind is channelled down through the windward chambers into the building, which exhausts warm, used air out through the leeward chambers, providing continuous movement of air.
All Airscoop units are designed to function regardless of wind direction and speed to provide controllable natural ventilation, along with secure and weatherproof night cooling.
Neil Rideout, joint managing director of Passivent, said: "The continuing pressure to reduce a building's carbon footprint has meant we have seen a growth in the implementation of natural ventilation strategies".
"The Airscoop Builder tool will be a major benefit to specifiers, helping them obtain accurate and trustworthy data quickly and easily, and make an informed decision as to the design of the ventilation system".
