Pearce Group, announced that Colin Forrest has been appointed Chief Executive, with the previous CEO, John Rackstraw taking on the role of Non Executive Deputy Chairman.

Bristol-based construction company, Pearce Group, announced today that Colin Forrest has been appointed Chief Executive, with the previous CEO, John Rackstraw taking on the role of Non Executive Deputy Chairman Colin joined the company in July 2005 as Managing Director, having gained considerable experience in the construction sector

He has held senior positions with Higgs and Hill, Kellogg Brown and Root and most recently, Rok Property Solutions plc.

Commenting on the announcement, Non Executive Chairman Richard Youngman said: "I am delighted to have appointed someone of Colin's experience.

He joins us with a considerable reputation gained in market-leading businesses and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to drive forward the Pearce Group.

Colin has a passion for the business as well as a clear vision for the future and I am confident that he will ensure that Pearce strives for excellence in everything that we do." The announcement comes as the company also celebrates a number of significant project wins, with four new education contracts totalling £15 million and five new retail contracts worth some £million secured for the New Year.

In Weston-super-Mare Pearce has been awarded a £2.75 million contract to build St Georges VA Primary school and a £10.5 million contract for Weston College to design and build a new sixth form college with associated art, design and music faculties.

In Bristol, Pearce has secured the £800,000 extension contract for the Hannah Moore School to create new classrooms, a library and sports hall which will be used both by the school and local community; the company has also received confirmation of the award of the £900,000 Gwaelod y Garth Primary School contract in Cardiff.

In the retail sector, awards have also been secured with imminent or recent starts on site: in Exeter for Primark for the and £4 million conversion of a former Littlewoods store; a £4 million fit out for Asda in Romford; and four major refurbishment projects in the Midlands and the North for Tesco with a combined value of and £18m.

New Chief Executive, Colin Forrest, said: "Moving into the New Year having won such a range of significant projects across our target South West and South Wales region and national retail sector shows that the business is in great shape.

In the past, the company has been responsible for delivering some landmark projects across the South West in particular and we're certainly beginning 2006 in the same vein.
